Former major league infielder Nomar Garciaparra will serve as an analyst for ESPN's Wednesday night baseball telecasts in the coming season. Garciaparra, who called select games last season, will work alongside Dave O'Brien.
The Red Sox' first round pick (12th overall) of the 1994 draft Garciaparra spent eight seasons in Boston, hitting .323/.370/.555 with 173 homers and 669 runs batted in. Garciaparra was traded to the Cubs at the trade deadline in 2004 and also played for the Dodgers and Athletics before retiring following the 2009 season.
